Your first minutes
When you start Grounded 2 you’re ant-sized in Brookhollow Park. Your first job is simple: stay alive while learning the world. Follow the opening quests — they teach gathering, crafting and building step by step.
Basic resources
Early survival hinges on a few basics found everywhere in the park:
- Plant fiber and Sprigs — from grass and plants
- Pebblets — stones on the ground, used for the earliest tools
- Sap — from tree trunks, used for glue-like crafting
- Crude Rope — from plant fiber, the backbone of early recipes
- Web fiber — from spider webs, once you’re ready to hunt
Crafting your first tools
Build an Omni-Axe and Omni-Hammer as soon as possible — they unlock chopping grass and breaking rocks. A spear or dagger gives you an early weapon. Grass Seeds, for example, only drop when you chop Grass Flowers with an Omni-Axe (see items).
Building a base
Gather weed stems and grass to build a shelter before night. Underwater bases are also possible later, but a simple starter base near your first Ranger Outpost is the safest early move. Defend it — insects like ladybugs and ants roam the park.
Co-op with friends
Grounded 2 supports up to 4-player online co-op with crossplay across PC, Xbox and PS5. There’s no local split-screen, so each player needs their own device and copy. See the co-op guide for how to play with friends.
